Throughout the week, 4-H youth and livestock presenters have been showing off their prized animals at the Genesee County Fair in Mount Morris. Some presenters have focused on raising an animal of the furry kind this year, such as 12-year-old Layla Bishop from Davison with her rabbit, M&M. Others are exhibiting a variety of livestock, including 17-year-old Davison resident Jenna Wells, who is showing rabbits, chickens, ducks and horses at the fair.

Competitions in many categories began with the opening of the fair on Monday and will wrap up tomorrow. Youth will have a chance to showcase their animals at livestock auctions on Saturday.

The Genesee County Fair will continue through Sunday with carnivals rides, concerts, grandstand shows and much more. Fairgoers can also enjoy sheep shearing demonstrations, a baby animal tent and a petting zoo. — B.G.
