Cookies with Santa at the Flint Children’s Museum

FLINT — On Sunday, Dec. 18 from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. the Flint Children’s Museum is hosting Cookies with Santa.

Visiting families can get their faces painted, participate in fun games and creative crafts– and, of course, meet Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Kids can write a letter to Santa and Mrs. Claus and a hot chocolate bar with cookies to decorate is available.

Flint Firebirds holiday ticket offer

FLINT — Give the gift of Firebirds Hockey this holiday season!

The Flint Firebirds are offering three different holiday packages for 4 anytime ticket vouchers starting as low as $64.

These packages can only be purchased at the Dort Financial Center box office window during box office hours or during a Flint Firebirds home game.

The holiday ticket vouchers can be redeemed beginning on Wednesday, Dec. 28 for any regular season game. This offer is not combinable with any other discounts.

MLK Inspiration Breakfast is Jan. 16

FLINT — Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Flint and Genesee County will present Dr. Martin Luther King Inspiration Breakfast, “Navigating New Norms” on Monday, Jan. 16 at the Flint Farmers Market, 300 E. First St.

Tickets are $20 at give/classy.org/ newnorm.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. The keynote speaker is DeAndra Larkin, chief of staff of Mott Community College.

Fridays at Applewood 2022/23 lecture series

FLINT — Mott Community College Lifelong Learning’s Friday Lecture Series, Fridays at Applewood, continues now through June.

The next lecture in the series is a panel discussion with David Dixner, Madison Bruce and Warren Henson on the topic Possible Options for Us As We Age, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. The program is meant to enlighten seniors of assisted living sites in the community. The panel of assisted living managers will highlight the benefits of both options and provide general information as to how they can help seniors maintain their physical/ mental well-being. — G.G.
