Quartet concert

BURTON — The community is invited for an evening with the Konevets Quartet; a concert of traditional Russian folk and church music at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 2143 S. For-Mar Nature Preserve and Arboretum Mini marine biologist program

BURTON — The ocean is filled with amazingly unique creatures. Children ages 7-12 are invited to explore the different oceans around the world and discover the different creatures that call them home, then learn how they can do their part to help preserve the marine habitats. The program cost $3 to participate in, and takes place from 10-11:30 a.m. Sept. 19 at 2142 N. Genesee Road. A portion of the program takes place outdoors. Honeybee hive inspection

BURTON — All ages and abilities are invited to join For Mar’s favorite bee keeper, Jim Withers from Withers Mountain Honey Farm, as he opens up the learning hives to check on the park’s busy bee friends. This program takes place from 10-11 a.m. Sept. 22 and is free of charge with no preregistration being required. Details: geneseecountyparks.org. — T.T.

Coffee Hours

BURTON — State Rep. Tim Sneller (D-Burton) has announced his September schedule for in-district coffee hours. These coffee hours allow residents the opportunity to stop in and have an informal conversation with the representative about how to improve state government, or simply to share concerns and ideas. Rep. Sneller’s upcoming September coffee hour will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. Sept. 28 at the Burton Senior Activity Center, 3410 S. Grand Traverse St. —T.T.

Music in the Park

BURTON — The Burton Rotary Club presents Music in the Park from 6-8 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Davison Roadside Park, 6160 Davison Road. Music will be provided by the Fairlanes. Hot dogs, water and chips will be available. Bringing a lawn chair is suggested. Details: 810-743- 2284. — T.T.
