Gleason Community Fund

to hold clay shoot

GRAND BLANC – The Gleason Community Fund, a non-profit organization for organ donor awareness, will hold the Gleason Clay Shoot and luncheon, June 15, at the Grand Blanc Huntsman’s Club, 9046 Irish Rd. Registration at 9 a.m., clay shoot begins at 10 a.m. Cost is $150 per shooter or $1,000 per a team of six. Cash prizes for the top two shooters and there will be a door prize raffle. Lunch will be catered by Cranberries Restaurant in Goodrich. Sponsorships available. Levels of sponsorships are: Double Barrel – $5,000; 12 Gauge – $2,500; 20 Gauge – $1,000; 28 Gauge – $500; and station sponsor – $250. Details: Call 810-964-1973. – G.G.

Kidney transplant 101:

FLINT TWP. —Funded by the Gift of Life Foundation, Beaumont Health’s kidney transplantation team will present a pre-kidney transplant education program June 21 at 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Gateway Centre Taft-Taylor room, 5353 Gateway Centre. This 2-hour program is for those considering a kidney transplant, family, friends, potential donors and health care professionals. Transplant nephrologist and medical director, Multi-Organ Transplantation, Beaumont Health, Dilip Samarapungavan, M.D., will review the transplant process, necessary medications and the long-term outlook for kidney transplants.
