Coffee hours

BURTON — Rep. Tim Sneller (D) has hosted more than 50 coffee hours since taking office! These interactive events are free and open to the public and provide attendees the opportunity to discuss their thoughts and concerns about state government with Sneller directly in an informal setting. He will also provide a legislative update on what is going on at our state Capitol. A coffee hour will be held 10-11:30 a.m. May 25 at the Burton Senior Activity Center, 3410 S. Bowling fundraiser

FLINT — The Flint Northwestern Class of 1969 is having a bowling fundraiser from 5-7 p.m. May 19 at B’s Bowling Center, 750 S. Center Road. The cost is $20 and includes two games, bowling shoes, one pizza and one pitcher of pop. Details: Call Dorothy Sanders at 810-877-3961. — T.T.

Gospel tour

BURTON — The Michigan Southern Gospel Tour comes to Burton at 6 p.m. May 19 at the New Testament Community Church, located at 3484 Belsay Road. The event will feature some of the best in southern gospel from right here in Michigan. Host group, Souls Harbor, are no strangers to the southeast Michigan area, having been singing and hosting concerts in this area for over 25 years. Also appearing at the Burton Michigan Southern Gospel Tour stop will be The Calvarymen, from Flint and The Sheldon Family, from Owosso. Superheroes to Parks Day

BURTON — For-Mar Nature Preserve and Arboretum presents Superheroes to Parks Day from 12-4 p.m. May 19, at 2142 North Genesee Road. The community is invited to celebrate Kids to Parks Day and National Day of Outdoor Paly with superheroes. Park attendees can visit the treehouse superhero headquarters to create their own superhero mask and learn ways to be a superhero for the earth. This is a free program, but pre-registration is required by May 17. — T.T.
