Fish fry

FLINT— The public is welcome to attend a fish fry held from 4:30-7:30 p.m. every Friday at VFW Post 822, G-5065 S. Saginaw Street. Cod, walleye and shrimp dinners will be available, with choice of fries or onion rings. The dinner also includes homemade salad bar, soup, desserts and coffee. Fish dinners are $9, and shrimp dinners are $10. Takeout is available. For details, call 810-742-1995. — T.T.

Burton Senior Activity Center

BURTON — The Burton Senior Activity Center presents a free microwave cooking class at 10 a.m. Jan. 16, at 3410 South Grand Traverse. Participants will learn to make healthy dishes in the microwave oven using recipes. This month’s recipe is cheesy broccoli casserole, to be made in a mug, with or without chicken. Those interested are asked to register in advance of the class. — T.T.

BURTON — The Burton Senior Activity Center presents a free dental implant seminar at 10 a.m. Jan. 23. This seminar is offered for those who are curious about dental implants, those who have wondered about the cost of dental implants, those wondering what options are available and those interested in having other questions answered in regards to dental implants. BURTON — The Burton Senior Activity Center presents a free genealogy seminar at 1 p.m. Jan. 25. The Genesee District Library will be at the center to discuss genealogy and how to get started tracking your family history. Please register in advance of class. — T.T.

Book sale

BURTON — The Friends of the Burton Memorial Library present their book sale from 12-6 p.m. Jan. 25 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 27, at 4012 East Atherton Road.
