United puts together huge trio of wins

Photo by Brandon Pope SOUTHGATE – Saturday’s road game at Southgate Anderson was possibly United’s most impressive win of the season in an 8-0 rout. United (Kearsley/Brandon/Holly/Lake Fenton) put up three in the first, three in the second and two in the third. Alec Copeland registered the hat trick while Colby Polutanovich had two goals and an assist.

Dru Sweers put up a goal and two assists and AJ Incammicia and Noah Bolton each added a tally and a helper. Drew Hobson had two assists and MacGregor Hepburn one.

Friday’s win over the Mid-Michigan Storm at the Polar Palace was a back-and-forth contest that United pulled out, 7-6. Sweers scored twice and added three assists, Polutanovich had two goals and an assist and Copeland scored twice. Hobson added a goal and an assist, Hepburn had two assists and Devin Smith totaled one assist.

The United pulled out a huge win last Wednesday over Fenton/Linden at Hartland Sports Center with a thrilling 5-4 victory in overtime. United had to overcome a 3-0 deficit after the first period, and they did so rather quickly with a 4-0 run in the second period. Fenton/Linden netted the only goal of the third, forcing overtime before United closed it out.

Sweers had a huge game for United with two goals and two assists. Polutanovich registered a goal and two helpers, Aidan Flick and Hobson each scored once and Hepburn added an assist.

United takes on Grand Blanc on Saturday at the Dort Federal Event Center. – B.P.
