Photo by Brandon Pope FLINT – The United (Kearsley/ Brandon/Holly/Lake Fenton) hockey program has high hopes of rebounding this year, especially entering the Mid- Michigan Hockey Conference. United ended up 4-15-1 overall but returns a core that could help it be quite successful.

Goaltender Conner Martin, forwards Luke Harrington and Tyler Boros and defenseman Alex Boros all departed in the offseason. United, however, brings back goalie Tyler Keller, defenseman Noah Bolton and forwards Aidan Flick, Alec Copeland and Drew Hobson. They’ve also got a pair of new faces with forward Lochlan Hepburn and defenseman MacGregor Hepburn.

“Even though we have a much tougher schedule this season I expect us to be very competitive,” said United coach Shawn Larsen.

United opens up the season on Saturday, Nov. 18 at home against Alliance (LakeVille/Goodrich/North Branch/Almont/Imlay City). – B.P.
