New 4-way stops at Judd Road

BURTON — Mayor Paula Zelenko would like to alert motorists who drive Judd Road between Saginaw Street and Dort Highway that beginning Sept. 5, they will encounter two new STOP signs on Judd Road-one at Barnes Street and one at Columbine Street. These intersections will become 4-way stops, like the intersection at Fern Street.

Judd Road, a major city street that carries approximately 1,700 vehicles per day, will remain a designated truck route. The posted speed limit on Judd Road from Saginaw Street to Dort Highway will remain 25 miles per hour. A recent traffic study showed the average speed on the segment from Saginaw Street to Barnes Street is 29 miles per hour, and the average speed on the segment from Fern Street to Dort Highway is 34 miles per hour.
