BURTON — A man was in critical condition following a shooting Aug. 2.

Around 10 p.m., police received multiple calls about the shooting in the 3400 block of Kings Lane, in Kings Lane Apartments on Hemphill Road.

Witnesses told police there was an argument between several females, and the victim, a 34-year-old Flint man, was trying to break up the altercation and keep the peace. He was shot in the neck, underwent surgery and is expected to survive, police said.

The suspect is a male who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. His reason for shooting the victim is still being investigated, and he is not yet in custody.

“We’ve had a couple shootings in the complex over the last month,” said Lt. Mike Odette. “They do not appear to be related. The most recent case is an ongoing and open investigation.”

Anyone with more information is urged to call the Detective Don Schreiber of the Burton Police Department at 810-742-2542, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-422- JAIL(5245) to remain anony- mous.
