Line dancing class

BURTON — The Burton Senior Activity Center offers line dancing classes Mondays from 10-11 a.m. Norma Rudkin will be teaching the class, intended for beginners. Benefit concert

BURTON — A benefit concert will be held for Seth Payton, a musician and father who has been diagnosed with cancer, at Walli’s Restaurant, 1341 S. Center Rd., September 16 at 7 p.m. Payton’s family has become very financially strapped, and are pursuing the last experimental options they’ve found, which are very expensive. The line-up includes Reverend Right Time and the First Cousins of Funk, D.A.B. (David Asher Band), EZ Duhzit and the Soul Jar and Sydetrakt. The cost to attend is $5 at the door. IMA Brookwood Golf Course Duck Race

BURTON — IMA Brookwood Golf Course, 6045 Davison Road, presents a duck race August 25 at 5 p.m. Ducks will be launched into Kearsley Creek, and the first duck to cross the finish line wins. First place receives a 2018 single season golf pass, valued at up to $750. Second place receives a 32” screen flat screen television. The cost to participate is $10 per duck. 5K Run/Walk

BURTON — IMA Brookwood Golf Course presents the Brookwood Boogie 5K Run/Walk September 21. Awards will be given for the first-place male and female, first-place masters male and female and first through third place male and female in various age groups. Registration includes a tee shirt and postrace pasta meal. The cost to register before August 31 is $25 and $30 after September 1. For children 12 and under, registration is $10. Dinner tickets only are $10 for adults. Early packet pick up is available at Complete Runner, 915 Dort Highway, September 20 from 5-7 p.m. Race day registration is at 4 p.m. at the golf course.
