Concert at library

BURTON — Baker Park Library presents Gemini Concert: Poetry Set to Music July 22 from 1-2 p.m. From the lyrics of Sufi mystics Rumi and Hafiz, to American greats like Emily Dickinson and Robert Frost, attendees will be able to experience poetry like never before. Burton Memorial Library Electrical Connections

BURTON — The Burton Memorial Library, 4012 E Atherton Rd., presents Electrical Connections July 18 from 11 a.m. to 12 pm. Participants can become an electrical engineer while using batteries, wires and switches to light up bulbs and turn on noisy buzzers. – T.T.

Book sale

BURTON — The Friends of Burton Memorial Library July book sale will be held July 27 from 12 -6 p.m. and July 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Burton Memorial Library. Lot of books of all types will be available for everyone’s enjoyment. The sale is an opportunity for attendees to support the Burton Memorial Library and buy a bag of great reads for next to nothing. – T.T.

Build a better car

BURTON — The Burton Memorial Library presents Build a Better Car with Ming Louie July 12 from 2-3 p.m. Participants will create a car that moves, made of foam rubber cast-offs from the auto industry, then race the cars to see which one is the fastest. For details, call (810) 742-0674. – T.T.
