Photo by Brandon Pope FLINT — As the tennis season comes to a close, Kearsley will look to turn its luck around as it hosts the Div. 2 regional tournament this year, which began this morning. The Lady Hornets have not had many team wins to celebrate this season, finishing 1-5-3 overall and 0-5-1 in conference play. Kearsley will face stiff competition with Alpena, Auburn-Bay City Western, Bay City Central, Clio, Flushing, Midland, Mt. Pleasant, Petoskey and Traverse City Central, which is the sixthranked team in Div. 2.

Teams have to win, place second or earn 18 points in order to advance to the state meet. The winner and runner up at No. 1 Singles earn automatic berths.

Kearsley’s team includes Stephanie Lane at No. 1 Singles, Hannah Brackin at No. 2, Brooke Mannor at No. 3 and Claudia Moore at No. 4. Doubles tandems include Chloe Clarambeau/Emily Jones at No. 1, Bree Rosenbum/Hannah Hendley at No. 2, Mallory Teed/Elenna Dye at No. 3 and Mickeely Dias/Mallory Simms at No. 4.
