In brief

Great Cloth Diaper Change of Mid-Michigan, April 23

FLINT -- Each year billions of disposable diapers enter landfills where it takes hundreds of years for them to decompose, if ever. In five successful years of the GCDC event, participants have shown the entire world that cloth diapers are a real option for today’s modern families, particularly catching the eye of expecting and new parents who may be seeking more planet-friendly and affordable alternatives to disposable diapers.

The Great Cloth Diaper Change of Mid- Michigan will take place from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Riverside Tabernacle Church, 429 Chavez Dr., in Flint. There will also be a natural parenting expo featuring local vendors, face painting, free breastfeeding advice from a certified lactation consultant, games, raffles and more! Donations of diapers for families affected by the Flint Water Crisis will be collected for Ava’s Cloth Share, a local non-profit providing loaner cloth diapers to low-income families.
