Adopt-A-Family program is under way

FLINT — The Shelter of Flint, Inc. Adopt a Family program will be serving more families in need than ever. This year they are inviting the public to sponsor a family for the fast approaching Christmas/Holiday season.

For many families in our community the holidays are a very stressful time. They face the reality they do not have enough resources to provide food, clothing or gifts for their children. By sponsoring one of our Shelter of Flint families, you help bridge that gap from hopeless to hopeful — giving the children and families a reason to experience joy this Christmas/Holiday season.

Details: Call Meg Sprecher at 810-238-4711, ext. 305 and request a family size (i.e. 1 adult, 1 adult & 2 children, etc.). You will then be paired up with a family accordingly. The family's information including their first name, age, gender and sizes, along with their wish list, with no one item valued at more than $30, will be mailed or faxed to you. Gifts must be purchased, wrapped and labeled at the Shelter of Flint no later than Dec. 16. — G.G.
