“Shakespeare in the Park” comes to parks across county
Actors performing in last year’s “Shakespeare in the Park” production at Kearsley Park in Flint.

— For six years, Flint’s “Shakespeare in the Park” in Kearsley Park has drawn rave reviews and enthusiastic crowds. Now the production is going beyond Kearsley Park to parks across the city and county.
Admission to all performances (except the opening night gala at Kearsley Park) is free.
Please bring your own lawn chairs everywhere except Kearsley Park. The Grand Opening Gala at Kearsley Park features strawberries and cream before the show and champagne by candlelight afterward with the actors, all compliments of Fandangles.’
Gala tickets are $25 and up.
This year’s production — the romantic comedy “Love’s Labours Lost” — opens at Kearsley Park with performances on June 11-13 then moves to For-Mar Nature Preserve, Linden’s Clover Beach and Flushing County Park.

“Love’s Labours Lost” portrays the adventures of four young couples, made up of the King of Navarre and his three best friends in love with the Princess of France and her three ladies-in-waiting.
Add clowns, music, poetry and lots of jokes and you have a witty, romantic evening of Shakespeare under the trees of parks around Genesee County. The play is directed by Kay Kelly.
This performance is part of “2010 Theatre in OUR Parks,” a collaboration between the City of Flint Parks and Recreation Department and Genesee County Parks and Recreation Commission.
