Tropi Tan Salons launch annual food drive

FLINT — On Nov. 28, Genesee County Tropi Tan Salons launched their annual “Tans for Cans” promotion, collecting non-perishable food from their customers in exchange for premium tanning sessions.

Teaming up with The Salvation Army and WCRZ CARS108 radio again this holiday season, Tropi Tan hopes to exceed the 1,811 food items collected at their area facilities during their 2008 food drive.

For their donations, tanners receive a session in one of Tropi Tan’s premium upgrade sunbeds — a value of up to $12 — depending on the number of cans they donate.

The Salvation Army’s food pantry is located at the Beecher Corps at 1475 W. Coldwater Rd., and their doors are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays for individuals in need.

Tropi Tan’s “Tans for Cans” food drive will continue until Dec. 24. Visit www.tropi tan.biz for a list of Tropi Tan salons.— G.G.
