GRCC needs help in Chase Community Giving Facebook Campaign

GENESEE COUNTY — The Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) asks the community to vote for them in the Chase Community Giving campaign. The Genesee Chamber Foundation is eligible to win $1 million through this unique Facebook campaign. The program is run by Chase and allows Facebook users to vote for local charities and non-profits to help direct Chase corporate philanthropy dollars to eligible organizations like the Genesee Chamber Foundation.

The charity receiving the most votes will be awarded $1 million, the top five runners-up will receive $100,000 each, and the 100 finalists, including the top winners, will be awarded $25,000 each. Voting for Round one ends Dec. 11. Voting for Round two ends Jan. 22 and the top charities will be announced on or around Feb. 1.

and click on the “Chase Community Giving” button at the top of the page, which takes visitor to the Genesee Chamber Foundation page.

Log in to your Facebook account (you must have a Facebook account in order to vote) and

become a fan of www.facebook.com/pages/

After-Hours at Firkin and Fox

BURTON — The Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce announces its December After- Hours Connection 5-7 p.m. Dec. 8 at Firkin & Fox Bar & Grill, 1341 S. Center Rd.

The event is an opportunity for attendees to unwind after work, along with networking. Complimentary beer and wine, soft drinks and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Cost is free, but reservations are required.

Intro to the Defense Internet Bid Board System

FLINT — Want to learn how to diversify business and successfully bid on government contracts? Learning how to navigate the Defense Internet Bid Board System (DIBBS) is the place to start.

The Procurement Technical Assistance Center staff from the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce invites interested individuals to a workshop 9 a.m.-noon Dec. 11 at Baker College of Flint, G-1050 W. Bristol Rd.

During the training, participants also will learn how to download special software that allows them to view detailed drawings of parts up for bid.
