Letter writer is part of the problem
      I just had to write and tell you it’s people like Sharon M. Jackson (“Editor off-base with anti-Granholm remarks,” Nov. 5) that will keep us in the poor house. Where do I start? She's right about one thing: Canada does not matter. A bad governor is just a bad governor no matter where she is from. Then Ms. Jackson states a few taxes are fine.

Remarks about governor were out of line
      I am also dismayed with (Gary Gould’s) remark about the governor being from Canada. Fortunately Michigan seems to have very good relations with our neighbor on the north border. I would certainly like to keep it that way. It seems to me that Governor Granholm's place of birth has no effect on her ability to govern.
